An important understanding I had with myself was that this was a journey.  It was not just the destination or goal of making it to some predetermined weight.  I had done that plenty of times in my life.  It was about finding the balance and peace around food and the weight loss would then be a natural by product.

It was important to me to take things one day at a time.  One choice at a time.  There were times that  I would become paralyzed by what lies ahead of me, and things could seem insurmountable.   But if in those moments I  just remember that each and every healthy choice I made got me going in the right direction and made a difference for that day I was able to stay focussed and not become paralyzed.


Letting go of the, “All or Nothing Thinking”

Letting go of the all or nothing thinking and being ok with baby steps, a healthy decision, or awareness I had discovered that day was very important.  Falling into the trap of all or nothing was sometimes a challenge.  Sometimes it still is.  I had to find the resolve that I did not have to be perfect nor my daily choices and actions had to be perfect in order to stay on this journey and not bail ship for tomorrow, Monday, or after the holidays, we all have know that story.  Who hasn’t told it?


Personal break through with,  ”Heart Centered Hypnotherapy”

I started an internship at The Wellness Institute where I continued deepening my understanding and skill level of hypnotherapy.  I also had an opportunity to address some of my own personal growth work through the use of Heart Centered Hypnotherapy and the work I did there over the next two years really helped me on my journey.  Doing this work was a personal break through for me!


Trim Life Weight Loss Classes that utilize and teach Hypnosis

At this point I was about 177lbs when I started this program.  During the course of the program I began teaching Trim Life classes for weight loss.  Up until that point I was hesitant to teach a group weight loss class because I had not found a way to really address the emotional aspect of weight loss in a group, but the format for this class was excellent and worked with all aspects of healthy weight release from nutrition and exercise to emotions and relationships and how it all ties together.  In each class the participants received hypnosis along with that weeks particular lessons. They also receive a workbook, handouts, and Hypnosis Cd’s for support.


Of course I utilized the program too!  It has been quite the journey.  I am down to 157 lbs currently.  I am still on my journey.  I have taken things really slow.  Made small changes that amount to a lot over time.  I am still getting really clear about some of my triggers around overeating.  I am on my journey and it is an active journey.


I have a deep passion for helping other’s who are tired of the roller coaster ride of dieting and want to get on a path of healthy weight release and maintenance for themselves.  I would like to continue to share with you about my journey in hopes that it will inspire you.
