I was single for a while really focussed on my own physical/emotional health and well being. I eventually felt ready for a serious relationship dated, met “The One,” and got married. I had kept my weight off now about a year from when I got down to a healthy weight for me.
As married life settled in, everyday stressors of life set in. I found myself quickly gaining weight. See, I had found the resolve to not use substances and extreme diets and released my weight by finding healthy balance to my food intake and movement.
What I had not done was address the emotional triggers that pushed me to use food as a coping mechanism. So when things got tough with the interpersonal relationships with in my house hold I went back to the old habit of eating. It was a downward spiral. I felt awful. The worse I felt the more I ate. I gained 60 pounds in about six months.
I had recently completed my certification in hypnotherapy and knew at that point that I needed to work on some of the core reasons for my over eating. Hypnosis had helped me deal with some major life transitions years ago and I knew that I would use hypnosis to help me with this issue. So I set out on my newest journey.
Weight Loss with Self Hypnosis
The first head way I made was when I started utilizing Seven Path Self Hypnosis. Using this form of self hypnosis was a great way for me to discover and release some of the old limiting beliefs. It was during this time period that I started becoming aware of my eating habits.
Until then for the most part it was like I ate in a haze. I would be so emotionally checked out that I did not even really get that I was eating as often or what I was consuming on any given day.
I began to use some different techniques to break through that haze and become aware of my actions. Awareness is the first step! From that point I then felt empowered to make healthier choices about my eating. With awareness comes the opportunity of choice. With choices I was empowered to choose what was best for me at any given moment with regard to my weight loss journey.
I employ many of the different awareness techniques I’ve shared with clients who were on their own weight loss journey. One of the techniques I use is, Affirmations. I created some affirmations for myself and used them regularly as a tool. I felt like I was gaining back control of my own life. As the weight began to fall off a little at a time I began to feel better and better. I would like to share some of those affirmations with you now!
